Premier Restaurants Malta, the operator of McDonald’s in Malta and part of Premier Capital plc, has reopened its Malta International Airport restaurant following an extensive renovation. The upgraded location now features 12 self-ordering kiosks, an enhanced McCafé, and a redesigned layout to offer a more seamless dining experience.

Originally opened in 1996, this McDonald’s restaurant is a traveller favourite and was ranked among the top 20 performing McDonald’s restaurants worldwide in 2024, out of 40,000 locations across 120 countries.

The €1.27 million investment in this renovation marks Premier Restaurants Malta’s first major project in 2025. As the Developmental Licencee for McDonald’s in six European markets, Premier Capital continues to drive growth and innovation across its restaurant network. The refreshed Malta International Airport location includes McDonald’s latest digital solutions, such as an improved Drive-Thru for faster service, self-order kiosks with McCafé integration, and Mobile Ordering Points (MOP) for curbside collection.

Peter Hili, Managing Director of Premier Restaurants Malta, commented: “As we celebrate our 30th year of McDonald’s in Malta, we’re thrilled to welcome customers back to our revamped restaurant at Malta International Airport. With a contemporary design, optimised lobby layout and more McDonald’s innovations for seamless ordering, we’re working hard to uphold our status as one of the top 20 McDonald’s restaurants globally.”

The restaurant operates 24/7 with a team of 112, ensuring high-quality service for travelers and the local community. To mark the reopening, the restaurant is offering exclusive promotions and family-friendly entertainment throughout the weekend.
