McDonald’s reopens in Bugibba on Main Square

McDonald’s has reopened in Bugibba following a €1.5 million investment to relocate the restaurant to the main square.

The new two-floor restaurant operates McDonald’s ‘Made for You’ customer service system, which allows the crew to prepare all meals at the time of order according to the customers’ requests. Customers scroll up or down the menu at the touch screen kiosks in the lobby, customise their order, confirm their selection and pay by credit card or cash at the counter. The order is then received by the kitchen crew who begin to prepare the order. Made for You was recently introduced to Malta at McDonald’s in Sliema.

McDonald’s Bugibba, which seats 165 guests, including 40 on the ample terrace overlooking the square, also features Malta’s seventh McCafé, a fun room and a party area for McDonald’s younger customers, and the latest digital menu boards. The interiors and furnishings adopt McDonald’s impactful urban LIM Extreme styling, reflecting bold street culture, art and expression.

“We are delighted to welcome customers to McDonald’s in Bugibba again after the previous restaurant was closed late last year,” Malta General Manager Lee Warren said. “With this new restaurant, McDonald’s Malta has created 50 new jobs for young people who joined us after our annual Recruitment Day in March. The restaurant will be run by a crew of 70 people who are excited to deliver the McDonald’s experience to residents, tourists and visitors to Bugibba.”

McDonald’s Bugibba is open between 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. from Sunday to Thursday and between 7 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
